1. Scope

LINEUP is a digital intermediation platform connecting surfboard owners and renters. LINEUP acts as an intermediary and is not a party to the rental contract between users.

2. User accounts

• Users must be at least 18 years old.
• Users must provide accurate and up-to-date information.
• Credentials are personal and must be kept secure.

3. Bookings, payments, and deposit hold

Payments are processed via Stripe. LINEUP does not store full card details.

• Total price and applicable fees are shown before confirmation.
• The security deposit is a temporary authorization hold for eligible damage claims.
• Deposit release depends on return status and applicable damage-reporting rules.

4. Damage, return, and disputes

Check-in and check-out photo documentation is mandatory and forms part of the handover protocol. Damage reports are assessed based on available evidence and platform procedures.

5. Cancellations

Cancellation conditions are displayed in the booking flow and booking confirmation. Repeated abusive cancellations may lead to account restrictions.

6. Prohibited conduct

• Listing equipment without legal right to rent it out.
• Misrepresenting condition, ownership, or pickup details.
• Bypassing the platform to avoid applicable fees.
• Fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful conduct.

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, LINEUP is liable only for direct damages attributable to its role as a digital intermediation service provider.

8. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Portuguese law. Consumers may access legally competent ADR entities in Portugal. See Consumer Disputes (ADR/RAL).
